  2. If there is  personal information you  wouldn't want your mother to see on this
  3. computer, the fastest method can be used. This is effective against anybody who
  4. doesn't really want to restore information from your disk.

  6. Someone with a few  thousand dollars and some technical know-how could probably
  7. restore  information from a  disk that  has been wiped out  using the  simplest
  8. (and fastest)  method.  If there  are  medical  or financial  records  on  this
  9. computer, you'll want to use one of the more secure (and slower) methods.

  11. If the  information on  this computer  is a  matter of  national security,  you
  12. shouldn't  be  using  this  utility  at all.  There are  federal  standards for
  13. destruction of sensitive data, and while this utility probably conforms to some
  14. of them,  I make no  such warranty.  You're probably  best off  taking a sledge
  15. hammer to the  disk until all that remains  are small pieces, then disposing of
  16. the pieces in geographically distant places.
